The Construction Business Registry (CBR) is a free online database of contact information for licensed construction professionals in Utah.
Any individual or facility licensed or registered under the Utah Construction Trades Licensing Act, 58-55. This includes burglar alarm companies and agents, contractors, electricians, elevator mechanics, handymen and plumbers.
Utah State Legislation passed Part 7 of the Utah Construction Trades Licensing Act, 58-55, introducing the Construction Business Registry, during the 2022 General Session. For more information about the CBR or licensing in the construction trades, refer to Utah Construction Trades Licensing Act, 58-55. No. Participation in the CBR is optional. Licensees can opt-in or opt-out at any time. Licensees can choose what contact information they want to provide (mailing address, email address, phone number). Licensees can update their contact information at any time.
Licensees who opt-out of participation in the CBR or who do not indicate their preference will only have their non-protected, public information listed on the public verification website as currently is the case.
Yes, as long as law allows the licensee to be hired as currently licensed. Please note that some individual licensees may not be hired directly without being associated with a facility licensee. If you have questions, please contact DOPL at (801) 530-6628.
The contact information provided on the CBR can be used by the public for hiring, communication, marketing, etc. All contact information is provided by the licensee at their own risk.
