Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling

During the 2024 legislative session, with the passing of SB26, the Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor license was repealed. As of May 1, 2024, it will no longer be a license type issued or regulated by the Division of Professional Licensing in the State of Utah.
 
Therefore, your Utah Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor license will expire on May 1, 2024, and will no longer be valid.   
 

Individuals who have achieved all of the following may qualify for licensure as an Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor (ACMHC):

  • Hold a master's degree from an educational program in rehabilitation counseling accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs that includes at least 60 semester credit hours or 90 quarter credit hours of coursework, and
  • Receive a passing score on the National Counselor Examination and the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination.
